Who Am I?

Thank you for visiting my online portfolio website. I was born in Kismayo, located at southern Somalia, and in the beginning of 1991, I moved to Sweden where I lived and studied in Electrical technician. However, 2008, I moved to the United Kingdom to pursuit education in Media and Communications.

I have vast experience in the area of communications specialist, public relations, focusing in community and media relations, PR event planning, social media, videography, capacity building training and was adviser to the President of Puntland. In addition to my communication work, I have strong written and verbal communication skills.

As communications and Media adviser to the President of Puntland, I have conducted baseline communication for 18 Government institution and produced a report with recommendations. Later on, I have developed a four years communication and media strategy for the government of Puntland, supported the President day-to-day work, and advised developing two-ways communication between Office of the President and citizens where we developed a monthly public speech.

Previous to communications, I worked as Construction electricians in Stockholm, Sweden. Used to install, and wire the electrical systems in new building, homes and streetlights. I also used to install signal communication systems and electronic equipment.

In 2012, I graduated from Coventry University’s Media with a bachelor’s degree Media Production, concentrating in television production. A month after receiving my degree, I moved once more to London, to pursue a master’s degree in Documentary by practice at Royal Holloway, University of London.
